Tips for afterschool:
- Start your homework early, procrastination is not your friend and at the end of the day will lead to more stress and exhaustion. This is also a great way to serve the Lord
- Make Bible time a priority in your day. By doing it before hardly anything else in your afternoon, you can refocus your attention onto the Lord. This can also be a great refresher before going back to school work.
- Have a hobby that brings you joy and allows your mind to concentrate on something other than school. For me, this looks like my newly started herb garden, baking, cooking, and puzzles. This sounds silly but they really do make a difference.
- By tidying up at night, you help set your morning up for success. I don’t know about you, but I cannot work in an untidy space nearly as well as I can in a clean one. This is such a helpful habit to think about incorporating into your routine.
- Also, have a personal book you just enjoy reading. There are so many good Christian authors that write amazing books. My favorite is Melanie Dickerson if you want to give her a try!
