Tips to have an easier morning:
- Turn on the light as soon as your alarm goes off. This wakes you up quickly and helps keep you from hitting snooze.
- Drink water as soon as you wake up. I personally find it helpful to keep an insulated water bottle next to my bed so I can have cold water as soon as I wake up.
- After drinking a few sips of water, grab your Bible. By combining these three tasks: turning on the light, drinking water, and grabbing your Bible, you have already set yourself up for success within 30 seconds of your day starting. This also prevents the too tempting “I’ll read my Bible later”.
- Also, by getting ready early on, this gives you some you time to wake up as well as time to reflect on your Bible reading. One of my favorite things to do in the morning is listen to a Bible teaching, pray, or listen to worship music. This sets my intention to be with the Lord for the day. I also find that I tend to be more present with him throughout the day when I do this.
- Finally, have grace with yourself. Not every day will look like this. I have so many days where I am so tired I give myself the bare minimum amount of time to get ready. However, I find I am so much more relaxed and happy the rest of the day when I do give myself more time.
